Shows
Jumping around too many countries and genres
- Stranger Things - no explanation needed
- Detective L - a historical mystery Chinese drama set in Shanghai in the 1930s that I watched ~3 times, much different from the cliche romance-esque plot most Chinese shows follow
- Extraordinary Attorney Woo - the right balance between comedy, law, romance, and social issues
- The Good Place - surprisingly philosophical, cool plot, a great sitcom overall
- Manifest - the best supernatural/thriller show ever, very underrated
- Guardian: The Lonely and Great God - one of the very few high-quality romance (+fantasy) kdramas I've watched my entire life
- Itaewon Class - another high-quality kdrama
- Culinary Class Wars - best cooking show I've ever watched (I've only watched one but this is still significant)
Anti Recommendations
Pretty self-explanatory: the opposite of recommendations. Read/watch if you are genuinely inclined to kill time!
- Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
The first book is okay, the second book gets repetitive. Both books are very addictive but very unproductive (i.e. fun but cliche, most things are predictable and not very new). Consider reading if you want to get out of a reading slump! - Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
Same as above, but rom-com instead of fantasy. Maybe I have an inherent dislike for romance, but the plot for this one was also too shallow. - Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
A bit too depressing. I have an unpublished full-length review for this one that I might want to put out on the Internet. - Titanic - slightly controversial but I think it's overhyped
